Eucryphia moorei

This variety of Eucryphia is a handsome, evergreen tree renowned for both its attractive foliage and pleasant flowers. Masses of the showy and sweetly fragrant, white flowers are produced through summer. These are contrasted wonderfully by the glossy, dark green foliage. It grows with a rounded habit to about 10 m tall and 5 m wide but is often trimmed to sizes much less than this which also encourages new growth. Best results with this tree are achieved when it is planted in full sun or partial shade on a well-drained, sheltered site that does not dry out. This Eucryphia is commonly grown as a specimen, included in cottage or “white” gardens, used as a backdrop for smaller plants, or planted for screening.
