Eucryphia lucida Gilt Edge

“Gilt Edge” is a variety of Eucryphia that features stunning and fragrant flowers set amidst glossy foliage. It grows as a vigorous, broadly columnar, evergreen tree with glossy leaves that are variegated yellow and dark green. Single, white flowers are produced through summer and serve as a lovely accent. It typically grows to 8 m tall and 4 m wide, but can be trimmed as necessary. This variety grows best in full sun on a well-drained, sheltered site but is tolerant of heavier soils and moderate frost once established. “Gilt Edge” is commonly grown as a specimen, included in mixed plantings in larger gardens, maintained in a courtyard garden, used as a backdrop for smaller plants, or grown to provide screening.
