The foliage is a pleasant, bright green and develops colourful, yellow and red tones in autumn before falling. It grows somewhat slowly to eventually reach 6 m tall and the same wide though can be contained with trimming as necessary. This tree performs best when planted on a well-drained, semi-sheltered site in full sun, noting that it is tolerant of frost and cool climates.
