Cornus kousa Moonbeam is grown for its impressive flowering and autumn colours. Masses of white flowers coat this tree in spring. The leaves emerge light green in spring, age to become dark green, then develop colour shades of red in autumn before falling. It grows with a broad and rounded shape to about 3 m tall and the same wide. Cornus Moonbeam makes for an excellent specimen tree and is great for including in a mixed planting, growing as a specimen, or planting to border an entrance.

Cornus kousa Moonbeam Details

Cornus kousa Moonbeam is grown for its impressive flowering and autumn colours. Masses of white flowers coat this tree in spring and are followed by red berries in autumn which are great for attracting birds. The leaves emerge light green in spring, age to become dark green, then develop colour shades of red in autumn before falling. It grows with a broad and rounded shape to about 3 m tall and the same wide, and can be trimmed as necessary. Best results with this small tree are achieved when it is planted in full sun on a well-drained, semi-sheltered site. It is tolerant of frost, cool climates, and short periods of dry. Cornus Moonbeam makes for an excellent specimen tree and is great for including in a mixed planting, growing as a specimen, or planting to border an entrance. With some trimming it is also well suited to planting around an outdoor living area.
