Cornus kousa 'China Girl'

How to grow Cornus kousa 'China Girl' in NZ

Cornus kousa 'China Girl' grows best in New Zealand when planted in a sunny or lightly shaded, sheltered spot with fertile, free‑draining soil. Plant in spring or autumn and water regularly while establishing to encourage strong root development. Mulch around the base to retain moisture and suppress weeds, keeping it clear of the trunk. This variety is hardy once established and benefits from light pruning in winter to remove any damaged or crossing branches and to maintain its elegant, vase-like shape.
