“Spring Snow” is a small tree grown for its colourful foliage, great form, and lovely flowers. The glossy, heart shaped leaves emerge light green in spring, age to become dark green, then develop yellow tones in autumn before falling. Masses of small, white blossoms are produced as the foliage emerges in spring and are very aesthetic. It grows as either a multi-stemmed or single-trunked tree with a broad and rounded canopy to about 4.5 m tall and 3.5 m wide and can easily be contained with trimming. Best results with this variety are achieved when it is planted in full sun on a well-drained, reasonably sheltered site. It is tolerant of frost, cool climates, and short periods of dry. “Spring Snow” is commonly grown as a specimen, used in avenues, planted to border an entrance, included in cottage gardens, or added to a mixed planting.
