Cercis siliquastrum, commonly known as the Cercis Judas Tree, this is a medium-sized, deciduous tree grown for its impressive foliage and flowers. The small, heart shaped leaves emerge copper-green, age to mid-green, then develop yellow tones in autumn before falling. Clusters of dark pink blossoms are produced in spring just before the foliage emerges, creating amazing colour. It grows as a single-trunked tree with a broad and rounded canopy to about 8 m tall and 6 m wide. The Cercis Judas Tree is commonly grown as a specimen, used in avenue plantings, or added to a mixed planting in a large garden.

Cercis siliquastrum, commonly known as the Cercis Judas Tree, this is a medium-sized, deciduous tree grown for its impressive foliage and flowers. The small, heart shaped leaves emerge copper-green, age to mid-green, then develop yellow tones in autumn before falling. Clusters of dark pink blossoms are produced in spring just before the foliage emerges, creating amazing colour. It grows as a single-trunked tree with a broad and rounded canopy to about 8 m tall and 6 m wide though it can be trimmed as necessary. Best performance with this tree is achieved when it is planted in full sun on a well-drained, reasonably sheltered site. It is tolerant of frost, cool climates, and dry periods. The Cercis Judas Tree is commonly grown as a specimen, used in avenue plantings, or added to a mixed planting in a large garden.
