“Pendula” is a variety of Cercidiphyllum selected for its pendulous growth habit. It grows as a small, weeping tree with lush, green foliage. The leaves develop orange and yellow colourings as autumn progresses and emit a scent reminiscent of cotton candy. It typically grows to 5 m tall and 4 m wide, performing best when planted in full sun on a well-drained, semi-sheltered site. It is tolerant of frost, cool climates, and heavier soils. “Pendula” makes a fabulous specimen and is often grown alongside paths or water features. It is well suited to cottage, modern, and smaller gardens.
