Flame Tree
Brachychiton acerifolius, known as the Illawara Flame Tree, is grown for its unusual flowering. It sheds deep green leaves in spring and produces masses of scarlet flowers on a near nude tree. Growing compactly with a pyramidal shape to about 12 m tall and 8 m wide, it makes a magnificent specimen in large gardens or parks.
