Betula White Spire Details

Betula White Spire is a white stemmed variety that grows with an upright, pyramidal habit. The foliage is lush, dark green and contrasts well with the white stems. As autumn progresses the leaves develop colourful golden tones before falling. Yellow catkins (small cones) are borne amidst the branches in spring and will generally remain on the tree into winter. This deciduous tree typically grows to 8 m tall and 5 m wide, performing best when planted in full sun on a well-drained site. It is tolerant of coastal environments, cool climates, frost, and moderate wind. Betula White Spire is well suited to large parks and gardens where it is often planted in clusters. It is also commonly used for screening and shelter purposes.

Questions and Answers

Have a question about Betula White Spire? We are here to help.

I am wanting to purchase 7 of the 35litre Betula White Spire trees. Our project is starting February 2025 so would want these March. We live in Rarangi Marlborough. Would this be an ok time of the year to plant these trees?

You can plant during that time if you have plenty of water for them and can dedicate to every day watering during dry periods. You may be better to hold off until May if you can when watering shouldn't be needed.
