Acmena ‘Sublime’ is a compact variety of Lilly Pilly that is grown for its lush foliage, and resistance to psyllids. New growth is lime-green and ages to become a fresh green colour. Cream-coloured flowers are produced during summer and result in edible, pink berries. This evergreen can grow to 5 m tall and 2.5 m wide, but is often trimmed to smaller sizes. It grows best in full sun on a well-drained site, and is tolerant of periods of dry and light frost once established. ‘Sublime’ is commonly clipped into a hedge, used for screening or as a backdrop for smaller plants, included in pool and modern garden designs, or grown as a topiary standard in courtyard plantings or in a container. It is a very rewarding plant.
