Leaves on this small, deciduous tree emerge pink-red in spring, then age to become burgundy red with green highlights, before developing impressive shades of orange and red in autumn and falling. It typically grows to 70 cm tall and 1.2 m wide, performing best when grown in full sun on a well-drained site. It will grow on a range of soil types and is tolerant of cool climates and frost.
