Acer pseudoplatanus Leopoldii, commonly known as the Sycamore Tree, is a variety Maple grown for its foliage and stature. It features lush foliage which is variegated with bold splashes of cream and green, and develops golden yellow tones in autumn before falling. Clusters of small, orange-yellow flowers are borne in summer on drooping stems which adds another element of interest. It grows with an upright and spreading habit to eventually reach 20 m tall and 10 m wide, performing best when planted in full sun on a well-drained site. It is tolerant of frost, cool climates, short periods of dry, and will grow on a range of soil types, barring extreme wet and dry. Acer Leopoldii makes for a magnificent specimen in parks and large gardens.
