Acer pensylvanicum Details

Acer pensylvanicum, commonly known as the Striped Maple, is a medium-sized, deciduous tree. It has an upright growth habit and features white stripes on the green branches. The leaves are large, mid-green, and age to yellow in autumn before falling. In summer, clusters of small, yellow flowers yellow are borne on drooping stems. It typically grows to 10 m tall and 8 m wide and can be trimmed as necessary. Best growth is achieved when planted in full sun on a well-drained site. Trees will grow on a range of soil types but will struggle at the extremes of wet and dry. Acer pensylvanicum is a magnificent specimen which is ideal for mixed plantings, large gardens, or for using as a shade tree.
