Acer Shindeshojo Details

Acer palmatum Shindeshojo is a Japanese or Deshojo Maple, that features a rich display of colourful foliage. This attractive, small tree bears scarlet red foliage in spring which ages to green-pink in summer before turning orange-red in autumn and falling. It typically grows to 3 m tall and 2.5 m wide and can be contained with trimming as necessary. Best growth is achieved when planted in full sun on a well-drained, moderately sheltered site. It is tolerant of frost and cool climates and will grow on a range of soil types but will struggle at the extremes of wet and dry. Acer Shindeshojo makes for a magnificent specimen that is perfect for mixed plantings, planting against a bland wall, container growing, or for using anywhere the spectacular colour can be enjoyed.
