Acer palmatum Omure-Yama is an impressive variety of Japanese Maple that features a rich display of delicate foliage held on pendulous branches. Leaves on this deciduous tree emerge bright green, darken slightly during summer, then develop orange-yellow tones in autumn before falling. It grows with a somewhat broad and rounded habit to about 3 m tall and 2 m wide. Best results with this tree are achieved when it is grown in full sun on a well-drained site. It is tolerant of frosts, cool climates, some wind, and will grow on a range of soil types, but will struggle at the extremes of wet and dry. Acer Omure-Yama is a magnificent tree and is ideal for including in a mixed planting, growing as a specimen, or for using anywhere the spectacular colour can be enjoyed.
