Acer palmatum Geisha Gone Wild is an impressive, small, Japanese maple featuring a rich display of interestingly coloured foliage. The finely cut leaves emerge variegated bright pink and light purple and often have a twisted appearance. The pink tends towards more purple as the leaves age but the variegation remains until autumn when the leaves develop a pink-purple colouring before falling. It typically grows to 2.5 m tall and 1.5 m wide, performing best when planted in full sun on a well-drained, moderately sheltered site. It is tolerant of frost and cool climates and will grow on a range of soil types but will struggle at the extremes of wet and dry.
