Acer palmatum dissectum Viridis is a variety of Weeping Japanese Maple that features a rich display of delicate, weeping foliage. The finely cut leaves emerge a fresh green colour in spring and remain this way through summer. As autumn progresses, they turn bright orange with yellow and red tones before falling. The foliage is held on pendulous branches which gives the tree a mound-like appearance. It typically grows to 2 m tall and the same wide, performing best when planted in full sun on a well-drained, moderately sheltered site. It is tolerant of frost, cool climates, and will grow on a range of soil types, barring the extremes of wet and dry.
