Acer Moonrise is a variety of the commonly known, Full Moon Maple, and features a rich display of colourful foliage. Leaves on this small, deciduous tree emerge bright red in spring and then age to lime green. The combination of new foliage and darker foliage is very aesthetic. As autumn progresses the leaves develop fantastic shades of red and orange before falling. It typically grows to 3.5 m tall and 2 m wide, performing best when grown in full sun on a well-drained site. It will grow on a range of soil types and is tolerant of cool climates and frost. Acer Moonrise is a magnificent specimen well suited for mixed plantings, maintaining in a container, using in a courtyard garden, including in cottage gardens, or for using anywhere the spectacular colours can be enjoyed.
