Acer Keithsform, commonly known as the Plane-Leaved Maple, is a medium sized, deciduous tree with fantastic foliage. The leaves emerge a fresh-green colours, age to dark green, then turn brilliant shades of red and orange in autumn before falling. Clusters of small, orange-yellow flowers are borne during late spring. It grows with an upright and conical growth habit and eventually reaches 12 m tall and 8 m wide. Best growth is achieved when planted in full sun on a well-drained site with young trees protected from wind while they establish. It will grow on a range of soil types but will struggle at the extremes of wet and dry. Acer Keithsform is a magnificent specimen tree that is ideal for mixed plantings, large gardens, or for using as a shade tree.
