Acer japonicum Details

Acer japonicum is a variety of the commonly known, Full Moon Maple, and is grown for its rich display of delicate and colourful foliage. Leaves emerge lime green in spring, age to mid-green in summer, then turn colourful shades of yellow, orange, and red in autumn before falling. This deciduous tree typically grows with an upright and broad habit to about 12 m tall and 6 m wide, performing best when planted in full sun on a well-drained site. It is tolerant of frost, cool climates, short periods of dry, and most soil conditions, except extreme wet and dry. This Full Moon Maple makes for a magnificent specimen and is ideal for parks and larger gardens. It is also suited to lifestyle blocks where it can be used for shader and shelter with the added bonus of fantastic colour.
