Kalanchoe pumila

Flower Dust Plant

Commonly known as the Flower Dust Plant, this is a low growing shrub that features lovely foliage and flowers. The thick leaves are grey and covered with soft, white hairs that give the plant a “dusty” look. Clusters of showy, pink-violet flowers are produced through late winter and spring on short stems. The combination of flowers and foliage is quite lovely. It typically grows to 30 cm tall and 40 cm wide, performing best when planted in full sun or partial shade on a well-drained site, protected from severe frosts. It is tolerant of dry periods once established as well as coastal environments. This plant is great for growing in a container, adding to a rock or coastal garden, including in a border, or planting around outdoor living areas.
