How to grow Graptopetalum pentandrum in NZ

Grow Graptopetalum pentandrum in full sun or bright partial shade with very well drained soil. Use a free draining cactus or succulent mix if growing in containers. Water sparingly, allowing the soil to dry completely between waterings, especially during winter.

Graptopetalum pentandrum care tips

Remove old leaves as they dry and protect plants from prolonged frost and waterlogged conditions. Feed lightly with a succulent fertiliser during spring if required. This hardy succulent requires very little maintenance once established.

Graptopetalum pentandrum size, spacing, and growth rate

Graptopetalum pentandrum typically grows 10 to 20 centimetres tall and spreads 20 to 40 centimetres wide. Space plants 25 to 40 centimetres apart to allow the rosettes to develop naturally. Growth is moderate in warm, sunny conditions.

Landscaping uses for Graptopetalum pentandrum

Graptopetalum pentandrum is ideal for succulent gardens, rockeries, containers, green roofs, and mixed drought tolerant plantings. Its attractive rosettes provide year round interest and combine beautifully with other succulents and architectural plants.
