Crassula ovata minima, commonly known as the Dwarf Jade Plant, is a succulent that grows as an attractive small shrub. It carries small fleshy, dark green leaves with a red edge. Mildly fragrant, white flowers are borne during summer which give this plant additional elegance. This South African native typically grows to 70 cm tall and 50 cm wide, and performs best in full sun or partial shade on a well-drained, sheltered site. It is largely drought tolerant and does not like being over-watered. Crassula ovata minima is often used as a houseplant but can equally be grown outdoors provided it is protected from frost. It is well suited to rock gardens, Mediterranean themed gardens, pool areas, or planting to border an entrance.
