Crassula coccinea Details

Crassula coccinea, commonly known as the Red Crassula, is a succulent that grows as an attractive small shrub with pretty flowers. It carries fleshy, green leaves arranged in an overlapping manner along upright stems. Striking, small, mildly fragrant, red flowers are borne during summer and sometimes during winter at the ends of the branches and give this plant a real elegance. This South African native will typically grow to 40 cm tall and the same wide, performing best when planted in full sun or partial shade on a well-drained, sheltered site. It is largely drought tolerant and does not tolerate being over-watered. Crassula coccinea is often used as a houseplant but can equally be grown outdoors provided it is protected from frost.
