Aloe thraskii, commonly known as the Dune Aloe, is a succulent that carries fleshy, green-grey leaves arranged in a large rosette, held off an upright stem. The foliage is complemented with yellow flowers from winter through until spring. This sculptural plant typically grows to 2 m tall and 1.5 m wide, performing best when planted in full sun on a well-drained site, and protected from frost. It is tolerant of both drought and coastal environments once established. Aloe thraskii is commonly maintained in a container, added to succulent and rock garden plantings, used in the drier parts of the garden, included in Mediterranean themed gardens, or included in mixed planting to contrast with other foliage types.
