Aloe reitzii Details

Aloe reitzii is a hardy succulent grown for its flowers and foliage. The leaves are thick, silver-blue, and produced as an upright cluster off a single stem. In winter, stems rise above the foliage to bear a cluster of small, tubular, red flowers. It typically grows to 1 m tall and the same wide, growing best in full sun on a well-drained site. It does not tolerate wet conditions but will tolerate arid conditions, frost, and some wind. Aloe reitzii is commonly planted in the drier parts of the garden, grown in a container, added to a mixed planting of succulents, or in borders. It provides for a great talking point due to its unusual growth habit.
