Aloe peglerae is a small, stemless aloe that features succulent, blue-grey leaves that tend to curve inwards. As the leaves curl inwards, they form a nest around the flowering stalk. Red flowers are produced in winter on a single flower stalk and create a stunning display. It typically grows to 70 cm tall and 50 cm wide, growing best on a well-drained site in full sun. It does not tolerate wet conditions but will tolerate arid conditions, frost, and some wind. Aloe peglerae is commonly planted in the drier parts of the garden, grown in a container, added to a mixed planting of succulents, or in borders. It provides for a great talking point due to its unusual growth habit.
