Cliff Aloe

Aloe nubigena, commonly known as the Cliff Aloe, is a succulent that produces long and slender, green leaves. The foliage is complemented with orange-yellow flowers in winter as it grows to 25 cm tall and 50 cm wide. Aloe nubigena is commonly mass planted either as a ground cover or in borders, and makes an excellent addition to rock and Mediterranean themed gardens.

Growing Aloe nubigena Successfully in NZ

Prefers full sun with well-drained, sandy soils. Plant in autumn or spring for best establishment. Drought tolerant once established. Ideal for rockeries, succulent gardens, and borders.

Aloe nubigena Care Tips

Water moderately during active growth, reduce watering in winter. Avoid overwatering to prevent root rot. Remove dead leaves to maintain neat appearance. Protect from frost in colder areas.
