Aloe hereroensis (Sand Aloe) grows best in full sun to light shade with excellent drainage. Plant in raised beds or free draining soil to prevent winter wet. In New Zealand it suits warmer regions or sheltered frost free sites. Water lightly during establishment, then reduce as the plant becomes established.
