Aloe conifera is a smaller Aloe that is grown for its interesting foliage and flowers. It grows as an open rosette of fleshy, blue-green leaves with a toothed margin. In winter, short stems carrying dense buds open into magnificent, small, yellow flowers. It typically grows to 40 cm tall and the same wide. Aloe conifera is commonly added to mixed plantings, grown in a container, or planted in drier areas of the garden and is great for providing winter interest.

Aloe conifera Details

Aloe conifera is a smaller Aloe that is grown for its interesting foliage and flowers. It grows as an open rosette of fleshy, blue-green leaves with a toothed margin. In winter, short stems carrying dense buds open into magnificent, small, yellow flowers. It typically grows to 40 cm tall and the same wide, preferring a well-drained soil in full sun. It is a hardy Aloe that will tolerate light frost and extended dry periods once established as well as coastal conditions. Aloe conifera is commonly added to mixed plantings, grown in a container, or planted in drier areas of the garden and is great for providing winter interest.
