Agave stricta

Hedgehog Agave Plant

Agave stricta forms large balls of skewer-like leaves to give a porcupine like appearance. It has a tight, spherical shape and will form offshoots to create a colony of rosettes with each rosette growing in a slightly different direction as it grows to about 1 m high and 1 m wide. Agave stricta is commonly used as an attractive feature in modern gardens, particularly when planted in clusters or used to contrast with other plant forms. It is also ideal for mixed plantings, rock gardens, or growing in a container.
