Agave ovatifolia Details

Agave ovatifolia, commonly known as the Whale’s Tongue Agave, features broad and stiff, powder-blue leaves. The broad and fleshy leaves are held as a rosette with each leaf having a series of spines along its edge. It typically grows to 1 m tall and the same wide, performing best when planted in full sun with a well-drained soil. It is very tolerant of dry conditions and will tolerate moderate frost. Agave ovatifolia is commonly used as an attractive feature in modern gardens, particularly when planted in clusters or used to contrast with other colours and forms. It is also ideal for mixed plantings, rock gardens, growing in a container, or including in Mediterranean garden themes.
