Agave Kissho Kan, commonly known as the Butterfly Agave, is grown for its foliage and hardy nature. It grows as a rosette with thick and fleshy, silver-blue-green leaves which often have a cream edge that ages to brown. The leaves radiate outwards from the centre of the plant with each leaf having sharp spines along their edges. This succulent typically grows to 30 cm tall and 40 cm wide, performing best when grown in full sun on a well-drained soil. It is tolerant of dry conditions, light shade, and moderate frost. Agave Kissho Kan is commonly used as an attractive feature in modern gardens, particularly when planted in clusters or used to contrast with other colours and forms.
