Aeonium arboreum Atropurpureum, commonly known as the Black Rose, is a striking succulent. It has fleshy, dark purple leaves that are arranged in a geometric pattern. Leaves are carried on maroon stems that become woody at the base. In summer it produces stems carrying masses of small, yellow flowers. It typically grows to 50 cm tall and 20 cm wide. Aeonium arboreum Atropurpureum is commonly grown in a container, planted in dry parts of the garden, included in rock gardens, or grown anywhere something unusual is required.
