Westringia ‘Grey Box’ is a variety of the commonly known, Coastal Rosemary, and is a popular, fast-growing shrub. It features fine and narrow, grey leaves which are held densely off short stems. The foliage is complemented during spring and summer with small and dainty, white flowers. This evergreen typically grows to 45 cm tall and the same wide, performing best when grown in full sun on a well-drained site. It is tolerant of dry periods, most soil conditions, frost, and coastal environments. In NZ gardens Westringia ‘Grey Box’ is commonly included in a mixed planting, maintained in a container, included in coastal gardens, trimmed into a low hedge, or mass planted for an impressive display.
