Westringia brevifolia, commonly known as Coastal Rosemary, is a popular and fast growing, evergreen shrub. It features narrow, grey-green leaves which are held densely on slender stems. The foliage is complemented with light blue flowers from winter through summer. It typically grows to 1.5 m tall and the same wide, performing best when planted in full sun on a well-drained site. It is tolerant of dry periods, moderate frost, coastal environments, and most soil conditions, barring extreme wet and dry. Westringia brevifolia is commonly included in a mixed planting, maintained in a container, or included in NZ coastal gardens.
