Viburnum odortissimum Awabuki
Viburnum "Awabuki" is a popular evergreen shrub that features lovely foliage and showy flowers. Showy clusters of white flowers are borne amidst the lush foliage during spring and summer. The flowers are great for attracting birds and bees, and wonderfully complemented by the fresh-green leaves. It typically grows to 3.5 m tall and 2 m wide, and can be trimmed as necessary. Best performance with this shrub is achieved when grown in full sun on a well-drained site. It is a hardy plant that will tolerate dry periods, moderate frost, and cool climates. Viburnum "Awabuki" is commonly included in mixed plantings, used as a backdrop for smaller plants, maintained in a container, planted around outdoor living areas, included in cottage and “white” gardens, trimmed into a hedge, or used for screening.
