Syringa Pats Lilac Details

Syringa Pats Lilac is a variety of French Lilac grown for its showy flowers in late spring. At this time, dark pink buds open to reveal fragrant, lilac-pink flowers which are both stunning and great for attracting butterflies. The foliage comprises pale green, heart-shaped leaves which develop yellow tones in autumn before falling. It grows upright with a somewhat open habit to about 2 m tall and 1.5 m wide, and can be trimmed as necessary. Best performance with this plant is achieved when it is grown in full sun on a well-drained, sheltered site. It is tolerant of light shade, short periods of dry, frost, and cool climates. Syringa Pats Lilac is commonly included in a mixed planting, used as a backdrop for smaller plants, included in cottage gardens, or grown as a flowering hedge.
