“Snowmound” is a variety of Spiraea grown for its pretty flowers. White flowers are borne as clusters through summer above the elegant, green foliage. The flowers literally transform the plant into a spectre of beauty. This deciduous shrub grows with an upright, mounded form to about 2 m tall and the same wide, performing best when planted in full sun on a well-drained site. It is tolerant of coastal conditions, frost, and cool climates. This shrub provides a lovely contrast to other plant colours in mixed plantings. It is also used in borders, maintained in a container, trimmed into a hedge, included in cottage and “white” gardens, planted around outdoor living areas, or mass planted for a stunning display.
