Skimmia reevesiana is a handsome, evergreen shrub. It features mid-sized, glossy, dark green leaves held on a densely branched plant. Through spring the foliage is adorned with clusters of small and showy, red-pink buds that open to reveal fragrant, cream-white, star-shaped flowers which result in glossy, bright red berries which persist for many months. It grows with a rounded shape to about 70 cm tall and 1.2 m wide. Skimmia reevesiana is commonly included in a mixed planting, grown in a container, planted around the barbecue area, or grown as an informal hedge.
