Peppermint Star Serruria

Peppermint Star Serruria is an evergreen shrub grown for its elegant foliage and pretty flowers. The fine foliage emerges green with a rose-coloured overtone then matures to a mid-green colour. These are held off yellow stems. Pink flowers adorn the plant during late winter and early spring. It grows with an upright habit to about 1.2 m tall and 1 m wide, and performs best in full sun or partial shade on a well-drained site. It can be frost sensitive, so protection while it establishes and from heavy frost is essential. Peppermint Star Serruria is commonly added to mixed plantings, used in pool and cottage gardens, or simply maintained in a container.
