How to grow Rosmarinus ‘Majorca Pink’ in NZ

Plant ‘Majorca Pink’ in full sun with free-draining soil for best flowering and foliage quality. It thrives in poor to moderately fertile soils and tolerates coastal conditions well. Water regularly during the first year to establish roots, then only in prolonged dry spells. Prune lightly after flowering to maintain shape and encourage fresh growth. Avoid excessive fertiliser, which can reduce flavour and flower production.

Rosmarinus ‘Majorca Pink’ care tips

Ensure plants have good air circulation to reduce fungal risk. Avoid overwatering and waterlogged soils, as rosemary prefers drier conditions. Harvest sprigs regularly for cooking, which will also help keep the plant compact. This variety is frost-hardy in most NZ climates.

Rosmarinus ‘Majorca Pink’ size, spacing, and growth rate

‘Majorca Pink’ typically grows 80–100 cm tall and up to 1 m wide, forming a dense, bushy shrub. Space 80 cm to 1 m apart for hedge or border planting. Growth is moderate, and plants respond well to regular light trimming.
