Rosmarinus ‘Blue Lagoon’ (Rosemary)

How to grow Rosmarinus ‘Blue Lagoon’ in NZ

Plant ‘Blue Lagoon’ in full sun and well-drained soil for the best flowering and foliage quality. It thrives in poor to moderately fertile soils and tolerates coastal conditions. Water regularly during establishment, then only during extended dry periods. Prune lightly after flowering to maintain shape and encourage new growth. Avoid heavy fertilising, as it can reduce flavour intensity and flowering.

Rosmarinus ‘Blue Lagoon’ care tips

Ensure good air circulation to reduce the risk of fungal issues. Avoid overwatering and waterlogged soils, as rosemary prefers dry conditions. Lightly trim throughout the season to harvest leaves and maintain a compact form. This variety is frost-tolerant in most NZ regions.

Rosmarinus ‘Blue Lagoon’ size, spacing, and growth rate

‘Blue Lagoon’ typically grows 60–80 cm tall and up to 1 m wide, forming a dense, rounded shrub. Space 80 cm to 1 m apart when planting for full coverage in borders or hedges. Growth is moderate, and plants respond well to regular light pruning.
