This variety of Rosemary is an evergreen shrub grown for its handsome foliage, flowers, and pleasant scent. It features petite, white flowers which are borne through spring and held amidst the small, mid-green leaves. Both the foliage and flowers release a pleasant scent when crushed or brushed against. It grows with an upright habit to about 1.2 m tall and 90 cm wide. It can be contained with trimming and grows best when planted in full sun or partial shade on a well-drained site. It is tolerant of coastal environments, moderate frost, and dry periods. ‘Alba’ is a versatile plant that is ideal for adding to a mixed planting, trimming into a hedge, maintaining in a container, or including in the herb garden. It is often used in Mediterranean and cottage gardens and suits being planted around outdoor living areas.
