Rhabdothamnus solandri, commonly known as Taurepo or the New Zealand Gloxinia, is a bush, NZ native shrub. It features mid-green foliage which becomes adorned with showy flowers during spring and summer that can be yellow or orange in colour. This evergreen typically grows to 2 m tall and the same wide, and can be trimmed as necessary. It performs best when positioned in partial shade on a well-drained site and is tolerant of short periods of dry and moderate frost once established. Rhabdothamnus solandri is commonly added to mixed plantings, included in woodland gardens, or included in revegetation programs.
