Raukaua anomalus is a dense, divaricating shrub native to New Zealand, typically growing up to 3 metres tall. It features a tangled network of wiry, interlacing branches with small, rounded, often toothed leaves. In summer, it produces inconspicuous green flowers followed by fleshy berries that are attractive to birds. Found from coastal scrub to montane forest margins, it thrives in full sun or light shade and tolerates a range of soils. Ideal for native revegetation, wildlife gardens, and shelter planting across NZ.
