Pseudopanax lessonii Trident is grown for its lush and glossy foliage. The showy, green foliage is held densely and has a fresh appeal to it. This evergreen typically grows to 1.5 m tall and the same wide and can be trimmed as necessary. It performs best when planted on a well-drained site in full sun. In partial shade it tends to grow with a more open habit and spreading habit. It is tolerant of wind, coastal environments, moderate drought, and frost once established.
