Commonly known as the Variegated Mint Bush, this shrub is grown for its foliage and flowers. This bushy, evergreen carries small, variegated, highly aromatic leaves. Through spring it bears masses of large and showy, fragrant, purple flowers. It typically grows to about 2 m tall and the same wide, growing best in full sun on a well-drained, sheltered site. It will tolerate frost once established but will otherwise handle cool climates and periods of dry. The Variegated Mint Bush is commonly included in a mixed planting, used as a backdrop for smaller plants, or planted anywhere the beauty and fragrance of this plant can be enjoyed.
