Pomaderris rugosa is a hardy New Zealand native shrub valued for its dense, upright form and attractive foliage. Typically growing 1–2 metres tall, it features softly hairy, grey-green leaves and clusters of small yellow flowers in spring. This tough, low-maintenance plant thrives in well-drained soils and full sun, making it ideal for coastal gardens, shelter planting, and native revegetation projects. Its wind tolerance and tidy habit also make it an excellent choice for structured or naturalistic landscapes.
